A chemical wash is [aircon servicing](/aircon-servicing) in which the fan coil and drainage tray are cleaned with chemical solution, with the unit still on the wall.

The term is trade usage, not a regulated standard. No Singapore authority defines it, so ask which parts are cleaned. You will see it on aircon servicing price lists, between general servicing and chemical overhaul.

A chemical overhaul goes further: the unit is dismantled and washed off the wall. The two are priced separately.

A chemical wash is usually priced per unit, and the price depends on the type of unit and the provider. Ask for a total across all your units and what the visit covers.

**Is a chemical wash covered by my warranty?**

Daikin lists general servicing of the air-conditioner among what its warranty excludes, so a chemical wash is your cost.
