## A cluster is a reason to look closer

Several reviews posted close together can have many explanations, including a busy period or a business asking recent customers for feedback. Timing alone does not prove that reviews are false.

Look at the longer pattern. Does the business have feedback over time, and do recent comments describe work relevant to your job?

## Read for useful detail

Specific accounts of the scope, communication, price changes and follow-up can help you decide what to ask. Repeated vague praise provides less information. A complaint and the business's response may reveal how a problem was handled, but one account rarely establishes the full facts.

## Keep the sample in perspective

An average from a handful of reviews is different from an average based on a large history. Check that the rating belongs to the right business and location. A company offering several services may have most of its feedback about a different trade.

Honestfix may only have a dated snapshot of the available information. Open the source for the current rating and recent reviews. Missing information should not be treated as proof of poor service.

## Turn concerns into questions

Ask who will attend, whether the quote covers the job you described, and what happens if the work needs a follow-up. Request a written scope and warranty. These checks remain useful even for a highly rated business.
