Terms of Use

Honestfix is a website run by Elephant & Ostrich LLP ("we", "us", "Honestfix"). Elephant & Ostrich LLP is a Singapore limited liability partnership. These terms cover your use of honestfix.sg and any Honestfix subdomain, and the MCP endpoint described in §10 below.

By using Honestfix you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the site.

Honestfix is a directory of home-service providers in Singapore, such as plumbers, electricians, locksmiths, aircon servicing, pest control, movers and cleaners. It covers jobs a household needs done, not renovation or design. For each provider we show what we found and when we checked it: its Google rating and review count, up to 50 of its Google reviews, a short summary of those reviews written by AI, its contact details, the business and licence records we hold for it, and a score we work out ourselves. We also publish guides and a few tools, and some tools use prices that providers have published on their own websites. See How Honestfix works for the method and the sources.

Honestfix is a directory. You deal with the provider directly for scope, timing and price. We are not a party to any job.

We check what we publish and show the date our data was checked, but we do not warrant that any listing, review, summary, score or fact on Honestfix is accurate, complete, current, or error-free at the moment you read it. Providers change their details, registers are updated on their own schedule, and we do not promise a fixed schedule for refreshing our data. If something is wrong, tell us. See §8 below.

Listing a provider on Honestfix is not a recommendation, endorsement, or certification by us, and is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by Google or by the business shown. The score is a summary of things we can check from public information. It is not a statement that Honestfix has inspected anyone's work or vouches for them. How the score is made is explained in How Honestfix works. All business names, logos, and trademarks shown on Honestfix, including Google's, belong to their respective owners. Showing a name here doesn't imply any affiliation.

Google reviews. We show a provider's Google rating and review count, and up to the latest 50 of its Google reviews. A review is shown with the reviewer's first name and initial as Google shows it. Reviews are written by Google users. We do not write, edit or pay for them. The rest of a provider's reviews are on Google. If your dispute is with the rating or a review itself rather than with whether we have copied it accurately, that is a matter between you and Google. If you think a review shown on Honestfix is fake, off-topic or about the wrong business, tell us through Corrections.

AI summaries. Each provider page may carry a short summary of what its reviews say. It is written by an AI system from the reviews and facts we hold, and checked by our own software against those facts. It is marked as AI-written on the page. It can still be wrong or out of date, and it is not advice. Read the reviews themselves before you decide.

How reviews are used. We read reviews with automated tools to find the job that was done and how it went. A provider cannot pay to have a review removed or improved.

Right now, nothing. Honestfix has no advertising and no paid placement, and providers pay us nothing. If that changes, we will change these terms first. Any paid placement will be marked as paid on the page and kept apart from the order, and money paid to Honestfix will never change a provider's score or position.

When you call, message or visit a provider through a button or link on Honestfix, you are dealing with that provider, not with us. We are not responsible for a provider's website, service, prices or conduct, or for what you agree with it. Provider websites and Google have their own terms and privacy practices.

Claiming. Claiming a listing verifies that a provider controls the business, and opens a portal where you can see what is published and send us corrections, which we review before any change is published. Verification today is by website: you place a code we give you on the website on the listing. Everything a business can do about its listing starts at For businesses.

Correcting a fact. If something on a listing is wrong, such as a registration, a licence status, contact details or a service area, use the form on the Corrections page. We check what you tell us against its source before we change anything. If we agree it is wrong, we correct it. If we don't, we tell you why. We do not promise a fixed reply time.

Removing a listing. Anyone can ask, using the same form marked for removal. A listing comes off Honestfix when the business asks and we have confirmed the request is from the business. Until then, a removal request does not hide the listing. Removal applies to the whole listing, including its registry facts.

What we will not do. We don't sell placement in the order. The score is worked out the same way, from the same public facts, for every listing (see How Honestfix works). We don't rewrite a provider's reviews.

For customers: this section covers corrections and removals of listing facts. If you want your own personal data corrected or deleted, see "Your rights" in the Privacy Policy instead. That is a different request.

This section applies once you claim an Honestfix listing for your business, through For businesses. You accept it by ticking the box on the claim form before your listing is claimed. We record the version you accepted and the date, and ask you to accept again if it changes materially.

You claim a listing as described in §8. Where possible we also match your business to its ACRA registration (UEN). Claiming is free and does not change your score or position.

Honestfix does not currently send customer requests to providers, so there are no leads to accept. If we open that, we will change these terms first and ask you to accept the new version.

We may suspend or close a vendor account for false information given at claim (for example a UEN that doesn't match), abusive conduct toward customers or Honestfix, or misuse of the portal. We'll tell you why.

We use the business and website-verification details you provide to verify your claim and run your portal. We do not sell your business's data to third parties. Your listing's public facts (name, address, rating and reviews) come from public sources, not from you, and stay published even if you close your vendor account, unless the business asks for removal under §8.

Honestfix offers an MCP (Model Context Protocol) endpoint so AI agents can search providers and read provider details. It is rate-limited per caller. The limits are published alongside the endpoint's own documentation, not fixed here, since they may change. If you're building an agent or integration, use the MCP endpoint rather than crawling Honestfix's pages directly. Crawling outside the endpoint is covered by §11.

If you build a product or answer that uses Honestfix data obtained through the MCP endpoint, attribute Honestfix as the source (name and, where the medium allows it, a link). Data returned carries the same accuracy limits as the rest of the site (§3). The endpoint does not warrant real-time accuracy.

The endpoint does not take quote requests. We may suspend or rate-limit a caller that abuses the endpoint, sends requests at abusive volume, or misrepresents Honestfix data. These terms may change as the endpoint develops. The version and date at the top of this page track that.

You may not use a robot, spider, crawler, scraper, or other automated tool to access Honestfix, extract data from it, or interfere with how its pages render or function, except through the MCP endpoint described in §10 and subject to its rate limits and attribution requirement. You may not attempt to bypass access controls, resell bulk-extracted Honestfix data as your own compiled dataset, or misrepresent Honestfix content as your own.

The compilation, selection, scoring, summaries and presentation of facts on Honestfix, including the score and the layout of each listing, are Honestfix's own work and belong to Elephant & Ostrich LLP. The underlying facts (a business exists, a phone number) are not ours to own. Google reviews belong to their authors and Google. The way we have organised and checked the facts is ours.

If you submit anything to Honestfix, such as a correction request or a claim-form entry, you're responsible for it being true and lawful. Don't submit anything defamatory, someone else's personal data without their say-so, spam, or anything that infringes someone else's rights.

Honestfix is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from your use of Honestfix, including loss arising from relying on a listing, a review, a summary, a score, or a provider you found through us. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot be excluded under Singapore law.

You agree to indemnify Elephant & Ostrich LLP against claims arising from your breach of these terms or your misuse of Honestfix.

These terms are governed by the laws of Singapore, and the Singapore courts have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes arising from them.

We may update these terms. The version number and date at the top of this page change when we do.
