What does this job actually cost?
Pick a trade and a job to see the price range Singapore providers have published. No estimates, no guesswork.

About this tool
What does the cost calculator do?
You pick a trade and a job, and we show you the price range providers in Singapore have published for it themselves. We don't estimate anything. If a provider hasn't published a price, they're simply not counted.
This only works where enough providers publish a price for the same job. Jobs without enough prices are not in the list.
What do I need to enter?
One choice: a trade and a job, from a single list. Each entry shows the trade first, then the job, for example "Aircon servicing: Chemical wash".
There's no postal code or area field. Published prices don't vary by area in what we show, only by job and provider.
How do I read the result?
You'll see a range, not a single number: a low and a high figure in Singapore dollars, with the number of providers it's based on and the date of the data.
The range is the middle spread of the lowest price each provider published for the job, not the full spread from cheapest to priciest. That keeps one very cheap or very expensive outlier from making the number misleading.
Where do these prices come from?
Every price is one a provider published on its own website. We read it and use it here. We never estimate, average against a "typical" cost we've made up, or fill a gap with a guess.
What can't this tool tell you?
Your final price. The actual figure depends on your specific job: what's broken, how bad it is, what materials are needed, and whether it's an easy or awkward job to reach. A published starting price is a starting point, not a quote.
Whether a job is under- or over-priced. We show what's published. We don't judge whether it's fair.
A price for every job. Some jobs don't have enough providers publishing a price. They are left out rather than guessed.
Agree the price with the provider before the visit, ideally in writing (a text message is fine). That protects you both.
Frequently asked questions
Is this price fixed?
No. It's a range of what providers have published, not a quote from any one of them, and not a promise from Honestfix. Confirm the actual price with the provider before they come out.
Why don't you show a price for every job?
Because we only show a range once enough different providers have published a price for that job. With fewer, the range would be too noisy to be useful, so we leave it out rather than guess.
Does the price include a fee for coming to look?
We don't show visit fees here. Ask the provider whether it charges one.
Why is the range so wide sometimes?
Different providers price the same job differently, and the job itself can vary in difficulty. We show the middle spread, so you can see the range honestly instead of one figure picked for you.
Can I get a personalised quote here?
Not from this tool. To get an actual quote for your job, contact a provider directly.
Is this business registered and licensed?
Look up the business and licence records Honestfix holds for a provider. Some trades have no open register, and we say so.

About this tool
What does this tool check?
It shows the records we hold for a provider: its ACRA business registration and, where we matched one, a trade record. The trade registers we hold are the BCA list of licensed builders, the NEA list of registered pest control operators and the HDB list of registered renovation contractors.
Every record carries the date we checked it.
What can't it check, and why?
This tool only shows dated records held by Honestfix. It is not a live search of every public register, and we hold no register data for some trades. Where a record is not available here, ask the provider for its licence details and confirm them with the relevant authority.
How do I read a result?
"Registered with ACRA: Currently valid" means we matched the business to an ACRA record that is live, and the name it is registered under is shown.
"No longer valid" means we matched a record, but the register shows it is no longer valid. The provider may have a newer registration under another name.
"Status not stated" means we matched a record but the register did not say whether it is valid.
No record means we couldn't match this business to a record. That's not proof the business is unregistered, and it never counts against them. Small operators often trade under a name that doesn't match their registered entity exactly.
A trade record with a date means the record was on the register when we checked. Registers change, so treat the date as the last time we looked, not a promise it is still valid today.
What should I ask a provider myself?
For any provider, it's reasonable to ask for its registration or licence number and to note it down before the job starts. For work that needs a licence, such as electrical or gas work, ask to see the licence card. A properly licensed provider will have no trouble showing it.
Frequently asked questions
Does "no record" mean the business is operating illegally?
No. It means we couldn't match a record for it. Many small and genuine businesses don't turn up this way.
Why is there no record for my plumber or electrician?
We hold no register data for those trades. Ask the provider for its licence details and confirm them with the relevant authority.
Is a licence check the same as a quality check?
No. A licence tells you a business meets a legal requirement to trade in that field. It says nothing about how good the work will be. Reviews are a separate signal.
What if a record says "No longer valid"?
Ask the provider about it. It may have renewed under another name, or it may have lapsed.
Can I check a business that isn't listed on Honestfix?
No, this tool only shows providers already on Honestfix. For any other business, check ACRA or the relevant register yourself.
What's actually wrong?
Answer a couple of quick questions about the symptom and we'll point you to the likely cause and the trade you need.
Start with what you notice
If you smell gas or burning, or see water near electrical points or wiring, stop. Get urgent help before trying any checks.

About this tool
What does the problem finder do?
You pick the symptom, answer up to two quick questions, and we tell you the most likely cause and the trade it points to. Two questions is the whole budget: past that point, more questions cost you more time than the extra certainty is worth.
Some of those questions can end things there and then. If a check points to something you can safely sort out yourself, we say so before pointing you to a provider.
Which problems does it cover?
The ones in the list at the top of this page. It is a short list, not every possible home problem, and we would rather cover a few properly than guess at hundreds.
What is this, and what isn't it?
It's a shortcut to the right trade and the right question to ask a provider.
It is not a diagnosis. It doesn't replace a technician's own inspection, and it isn't medical, legal or engineering advice. Think of it as a sharper starting point, not a verdict.
If your answers contradict each other or don't point to one cause, the tool says so instead of guessing.
When should I call someone right now, skip the questions?
If you smell gas, smell burning, or see water anywhere near electrical points or wiring, stop and call someone immediately. Don't wait for this tool, and don't try to check it yourself first.
Frequently asked questions
How accurate is the likely cause?
It's our reading of the pattern in your answers, not a certainty. If it's not right, your own check or a technician's inspection can rule it out.
What happens after it gives me an answer?
You get the likely cause, how urgent it is, and a link to the providers for that trade. Where it's safe, you also get a check you can try yourself first.
My problem isn't on the list. What do I do?
Search for it directly, or head to the trade page for the kind of work it needs.
Does using this cost anything?
No. It's free, with no account and nothing to sign up for.
