I was looking for a contractor to renovate my flat of 12yrs. During the process, I had tried searching via HomeMatch which recommended 5 IDs; as well as asking friends who had recently renovated their homes. Kian Hoe Seng Renovation Construction whom my friend had engaged was introduced. Desmond was very responsive and arranged the next available time to come by my flat to meet me. After meeting with Desmond as well as another ID from HomeMatch (out of 5IDs, only one arranged to meet on site, while the others ask to discuss via calls); I decided to proceed with Desmond for the Reno works and I have never been happier. Not only the quote had full transparency, it had everything I asked for with no hidden fees or items placed under optional costs. I lived in my current flat for 12yrs and it’s the first time I’m renovating. So you can imagine, staying in while Reno works are taking place. Desmond informed me the process will take 2weeks but he completed it in a week and that includes repainting of the whole flat. Throughout the process, the workers and contractors were very systematic and works were well planned. At one point I had 4 different groups coming in but there was never any overlapping where one had to wait for another, the works were running simultaneously. Workers were also very tidy and cleaned up accordingly. My neighbour was informed of my Reno (as there will be some drilling works) and they were very surprised by the speed and quality; even asked to share contact. I will definitely recommend Kian Hoe Seng to my friends who are looking for contractors!

I just finished renovation with KHS and it was a superb experience. Desmond is experienced, honest and patient. Always answering quickly and accurately regardless how bad my questions were. I appreciated that. Any time there was an issue, he really sincerely helped. Even beyond the contracted work for me, he also helped my other issues with my own—appointed sub cons. Super grateful and quite paiseh for me actually. Before this, I read so many good reviews and was abit skeptical. Now having worked with him I know it’s true and Desmond really should be getting 6 out of 5 stars. If anyone is reading this because you are considering KHS. Please do so asap so you can save time, and move on to other stuff in your reno journey. If anyone needs more details please reach out and I am happy to share my experiences.

KHS Renovation is very reliable contractor, especially Desmond , he’s very helpful, fast respond, detailed and honest. He’s updating phase by phase of his work done. I can take overseas holidays with peace of mind during my renovation, I leave it to him to handle everything. Even after we already shifted in, we tell him all the things, he’s right away sent his people to do.. very recommended!!!

There are two most important things for finding a reno contractor, communication and workmanship. Desmond was able to deliver both professionally and reliably. After shortlisting 5 ID/contractors, I engaged Desmond to renovate my resale flat and he did an excellent job. He was very responsive and would attend to any kind of questions or requests, no matter how trivial. Desmond has decades of reno experience, which made him reliable and trustworthy. The workmanship was also commendable and he was always willing to touch up or rectify any request made by me.

Engaged KHS for our BTO reno after meeting a few ids/contractors. Decided to went ahead as the price quoted was very reasonable and they were very responsive and professional during the on-site meeting. Fast forward 1.5 to 2 months later, our reno is completed and we are extremely satisfied with the work that they have done. During the period of reno, our concerns were addressed quickly and the tight schedule was managed well without compromising on the workmanship. Defects were also rectified promptly and overall it was a great experience with them. Renovation is always a stressful journey but KHS definitely aided us in alleviating some of the stress. Kudos to Desmond especially for helping us with our demands👏👍

Desmond. Honest and Reliable. I'm glad I chose Desmond amongst the contractors that came forth. This is my 6th renovation, the best one yet. Communications with Desmond were prompt, all questions no matter how trivial were answered expeditiously. His team of tilers, carpenters, electricians and plumbers are meticulous and professional in their respective fields. Timelines were met and all works were on schedule. Whenever problems arise, Desmond will go the extra mile to resolve them. I can't ask for more. It's been a month since handover and Desmond is still helping me with touchups. Tried this contractor for the first time. Got them to change the grilles and shower doors. I was happy with the work done. They were on time and efficient. I also much later contacted them for changing out the kitchen cooking top, wash basin and all the cupboard door hinges. Work was done well. Price wise, I did not bargain with them as I am not sure what is the expected market price. More importantly, they have done a good job. My wife is happy - and thats important. I am now considering to engage them to do painting for my house. Boss, if you see this, please give me a good discount.

We needed some tear down and paintwork to be done for four floors within a rushed timeline of 10 days. From start to finish, Desmond and the team were very efficient and quickly rectified any problems that arose, giving me a peace of mind. Fair prices, good workmanship and delivered ahead of time. I recently completed my renovation with KHS Windows & Renovation, and I couldn’t be happier with the outcome. Desmond Tay is truly experienced and handled my project exceptionally well — even finishing it ahead of schedule. What I really appreciate is how he takes the time to listen and provide honest advice on whether certain ideas are practical or not. His pricing is also very fair and transparent, unlike my previous contractor who shocked me with unexpected variation orders (VOs) after the project was done. Both my mother and I are very satisfied with the results, and the whole experience has been stress-free compared to what we’ve gone through before. Desmond has kept within a month's timeline to renovate my mom's kitchen, storeroom. Entire house windows were changed as well as the whole house repainted in time for moving in to stay. He's also accommodative to aftersales enquiries to additional and remedy works. My mom was pleased with the final outcome of the looks and layout of the revised renovated kitchen.

We engaged KHS Construction for a full-fledged renovation of our 5I resale flat, and overall, it was a very positive experience. Desmond, our main point of contact, was extremely responsive and took the time to meet us to understand our needs and wants. He also provided professional advice in areas we were unsure about, which we truly appreciated. Our renovation started on 24 April and was completed by end June. Desmond was very helpful in helping us visualise the design, especially when it came to choosing tiles for the entire house and toilets. His expertise also made it possible for me to have my dream dry pantry despite our narrow kitchen layout. The kitchen carpentry workmanship was excellent, and we were very pleased with the results. Desmond is also a man of his word — even when there were miscommunications due to multiple audio messages, he honoured what he promised without hesitation. That said, there are a few areas for improvement: Communication & updates – Audio messages can be hard to backtrack. It may be easier to meet in person for quotation updates so clients don’t have to scroll through chat history. On-site care – Workers (whether outsourced or in-house) should be more careful after tiles have been laid. We had some chipped tiles which Desmond replaced, but this did affect the timeline. Better floor protection could help. Painting & finishing – Painters/plasterers should have a sharper eye for detail, especially for larger units. We noticed several areas needing touch-ups even after the final round was done, and after moving in, we spotted dents or incomplete painting on ceilings and corners. Overall, we’re happy with the outcome and grateful for Desmond’s dedication and expertise. With a few refinements in process and quality control, KHS Construction could easily deliver an even smoother renovation experience.

I met with Desmond twice before deciding to work with him for my home renovation. The way he handled the meetings set me at ease that he knows his stuff. At no point was he pushy and instead advised me to only do works in line with my needs and budget. Even further along the line when works were ongoing, when I suggested additional works, he would suggest cost effective solutions for me so that my overall cost don’t go up. Very impressed by the way Serene and her team works from the very beginning. Her quotation was accurate, and given that I was working, we met once for her to do a site-viewing for her to confirm the price. Subsequently, her team came on their own to do the actual measurement. Once the item is fabricated, her team immediately called me to ask if they can start installation. On the day of installation, I was told that her team will come at 9am. I couldn't be there, but I was concerned as I did not receive any calls or notifications from them. I texted Serene, only to find out that the job has been done as per promised. And when I came down to inspect later during the day, everything was professionally done. I love how they showcased the quality of their work theough their actions, not just by lip service. Highly recommended!
