What the warranty covers
Daikin Singapore's general warranty runs for fifteen (15) months from the date of delivery or twelve (12) months from the date of installation, whichever earlier, with the compressor warranted for a further period immediately following the general warranty.
The warranty does not pay for routine work. Daikin lists general servicing of the air-conditioner among what the warranty excludes, and the compressor warranty excludes labour and transport and charging of refrigerant. Budget for servicing separately from the warranty.
Two things void it. Daikin's warranty terminates if you use any part in the air-conditioner other than genuine Daikin parts, or fail to follow Daikin's instruction as regard the application, installation, use, service or maintenance. Ask which parts a provider will fit before they fit them.
Servicing notes
Routine cleaning and chemical washes do not need to go through the brand. Anything that opens the refrigerant circuit is different.
Refrigerant work is not general cleaning. NEA states that service personnel must complete training courses conducted by ITE to comply with SCDF's requirements on R32 air-conditioning systems, which covers most current household split units. Ask whether the technician has that training before you agree to a top-up or a gas leak repair.
Who services them
For a warranty claim, go to Daikin rather than to a servicing provider. Daikin Singapore routes service and spare-part requests through its Contact Us page at https://www.daikin.com.sg/contact-us/, which also carries its dealer locator.
Outside warranty, any competent aircon servicing provider will do.
