Hi, i had a positive experience with Oscar Maids (hougang branch) Summer. She has an outspoken and sunshine personality to recommend a suitable helper for me. Thou in recent months this helper may be slow and abit lazy, I have feedback to her; Summer reacts promptly to settle the issues of asking the Myanmar agent to encourage the helper to work better. Review
We are a senior citizen couple living by ourselves and were looking for a domestic helper urgently. On the recommendation of a friend, we approached Oscar Maids Pte Ltd at their Hougang Street branch at short notice on 1 May 2026. We met with Summer who acquainted us with helpers who were immediately available. We chose one on the spot and Summer did the required documentation in the next couple of hours. We left their office within three hours of our arrival having completed all formalities. We received the MOM In-Principle Approval within three days. Since the helper had newly arrived from her country we left her with the Agency for one week for basic training in household work. On its completion they reached her to our home on 8 May. We are happy with the helper. We are thankful to Oscar Maids Pte Ltd for their kind assistance and gladly commend their services. G&J Shenoy, dated 9 July 2026.

As first-time employers of a domestic helper, we were grateful to have Renie guide us through the process. She was helpful in shortlisting potential candidates and made the initial experience much less daunting than expected.
Unfortunately, our first helper didn’t work out due to a character issue, but Renie helped us find a replacement. She provided practical advice on how to communicate with our outgoing helper and manage the transfer process, something we had no prior experience with. Thanks to her guidance, both the transfer and the pick-up of our second helper went smoothly without any major hiccups.
The one area I’d suggest improvement is around proactive communication regarding FDW Levy charges during the overlap period between helpers. Being first-timers, a heads-up on these costs would have been appreciated.
Overall, we are happy with Renie’s service and would not hesitate to engage her again or recommend her to others looking for a reliable and supportive maid agency consultant.

Our family need to hire an assistant to take care of ailing grandfather. Oscar maid agency happen to have an assistant available who has a nursing cert and clinic experience. We hired her on the spot, our nurse/assistant has been a great help, and yes there are growing pains when working with a new assistant but so far it has been working well with mutual understanding from both sides, and workarounds for most teething issues. Oscar maid agency has been very helpful. And they handle all the processing, and paperwork without any issues. They also follow up few months later on well being of assistant and family in general. If your idea of "fuss-free communication" is complete radio silence, this might just be the agency for you. Phone calls and WhatsApp messages seem to be placed on a "low priority" plan.
If you need a workout, able to run to their office hoping for clarity and communication. Probably won't expect a conclusive answer either.

I made the decision to end services on 15 March and requested a refund. The actual refund request? Only submitted on 1 April. I was told it would be refunded within the stipulated timeframe. Today is that very day… and guess what?
Radio silence. Again.
Oscar Maid was originally recommended because of an agent who truly cared—but unfortunately, she’s no longer with them. That care left with her.
So yes, if you're looking for an agency that runs at its own rhythm, communicates in riddles (if at all), and reserves transparency for public platforms rather than paying clients… you’ve found it.
